Biography
Sonaly Silva, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Associate Director of Training at UNLV Student Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). In this role, she oversees the APA-accredited Doctoral Internship Program and the practicum training programs at CAPS. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Western Carolina University Counseling and Psychological Services and her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina Wilmington Counseling Center.
Silva has a strong passion for training and supervising emerging mental health professionals. Clinically, she works with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, adjustment and life transitions, grief and loss, stress management, developmental disabilities, and identity development. Her therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a feminist-based multicultural framework, allowing her to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each client.
In her free time, Silva enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, cooking, and spending quality time with friends and family.
