Biography
Shoma Kitayama, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in structural engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prior to joining UNLV, he held academic positions at Brunel University of London (as a lecturer), the University of Leeds (as a research fellow), and the University at Buffalo, State University of New York (as a postdoctoral associate). At UNLV, he is actively involved in academic research and teaching, delivering bachelor’s and master’s courses related to structural engineering. He supervises Ph.D. students, along with MSc and undergraduate students, on their research projects. He welcomes inquiries from prospective undergraduate/graduate students, visiting scholars, and potential academic or industry collaborators interested in discussing research or other opportunities.
