Sheniz Moonie, Ph.D., M.S., is a professor and the chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health. She is the Southern Nevada director for the CDC funded Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey which tracks chronic disease risk factors and rates. Her research focus includes respiratory disease and clinical statistics. She has been involved with pediatric and adult asthma research for over two decades, with active collaborations with the American Lung Association and Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. She has acquired both internal and extramural funding and published in a wide variety of peer reviewed journals. She serves on the review board for Journal of School Health, Pediatrics, and Journal of Asthma and Clinical Immunology.
