Biography

Sheama Krishnagiri is an Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Program since 2021. She earned a BS in Kinesiology from UCLA, an MA in Occupational Therapy, and a Ph.D. in Occupational Science from the University of Southern California. She is a licensed Occupational Therapist with over 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and clinical practice. Dr. Krishnagiri is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association. She is an emeritus of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education. Dr. Krishnagiri’s clinical experience is in the area of pediatrics and physical disabilities in older adults.

Research Interests

As an occupational scientist, Dr. Krishnagiri’s research interests lay in describing social occupations, occupational therapy education, and clinical studies related to occupation-based practice. She is currently working on exploring occupations that are a passion for individuals and how students learn about the concept of occupation.
