Samantha M. Thompson is a third year Stage Management MFA Candidate at UNLV. Originally from Cary, North Carolina, Samantha obtained her BFA in Technical Production with International Honors from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2016. Since then, Samantha has worked as a professional stage manager around the country, gaining experience in regional theater as well as theme park and cruise line entertainment. Since arriving in Las Vegas, Samantha has also added immersive productions and circus to her resume as well. Her most recent professional credits include On-Call Assistant Stage Manager for Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles’ LOVE & Michael Jackson One, as well as America’s Got Talent Presents Superstars LIVE!. Her credits from the Nevada Conservatory Theatre include serving as the Production Stage Manager for Violet, Crumbs From The Table of Joy, and The Beaux’ Stratagem. Fueled by her passion for teaching, Samantha has obtained the Graduate Teaching Certification from UNLV’s Graduate and Professional Student Association in 2023, and is currently completing the Graduate Mentorship Certification. She has taught several sections of the Introduction to Theatre course for the last two years, and is the current instructor of the undergraduate stage management course this semester.
