Robert Nevarez is the Police De-Escalation Training Coordinator for the Western United States. He was Delano Chief of Police from July 2018 - July 2021 where he helped lower crime for three consecutive years while building a strong bond of trust with the community. This resulted in a joint resolution from the California State Legislature for his accomplishments.

Previously, Nevarez was with the Fresno Police Department for 32 years; 19 years in executive management. Nevarez served as Fresno Deputy Chief of Police for 15 years, during which time he oversaw patrol, professional standards, and administrative services.

Since 2000, Nevarez has been a member of Toastmasters International. In 2008, Nevarez was involved in starting Fresno City Toastmaster's, later delivering the Keynote Speech at the clubs Chartering Ceremony. He served as club president and G3 Area Governor.
