Rebecca Nathanson, Ph.D.

Biography
Professor Nathanson is an associate professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education and the James Rogers Professor of Education & Law in the Boyd School of Law. She earned her Ph.D. in special education at the University of California, Santa Barbara and joined the UNLV College of Education faculty in 2000. Professor Nathanson joined the law school faculty in 2003, where she established and directs the Kids’ Court School, a program aimed at educating child witnesses about the judicial process and teaching them strategies to reduce court-related stress.
Research Expertise
Professor Nathanson’s research focuses on children and youth in the legal system, with special emphasis on children in court and remediating juvenile competency to stand trial.
