Biography

Rayshawn Williams is a USMC veteran that served from 2001-2005. Rayshawn was a field radio operator deployed to Iraq in 2003,2005. Post-separation from service, Rayshawn worked for Direct TV before assuming a small business from 2007-2010. Post entrepreneurship Rayshawn openly discloses to those interested in hearing his story of how he lost his way circa 2012 as some post-service members do and fell victim to the consequences of bad choices that equate to legality challenges. After facing the music, Rayshawn returned to school starting with CSN in the spring of 2017 to obtain an AA in criminal justice (fall 2018), then a dual Bachelor of Social Work/Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (spring 2020), and concluding with a Master of Social Work (Spring2022). Rayshawn is currently in pursuit of an Addiction Studies Certificate with the University of Nevada - Reno

During Rayshawn’s academic student status, Rayshawn volunteered in various capacities in the Las Vegas Valley, as well as working with the Peer Advisors for Veteran Education program as a peer advisor from the spring of 2019 until the fall of 2021.  In addition, Rayshawn was the 2019-20 treasurer and 2020-21 special projects officer with UNLV's Rebel Vets. During the pursuit of Rayshawn's graduate studies, he obtained a letter of appointment position with the Center of Academic Enrichment and Outreach as a Program Coordinator (2020), which has led to a full-time administrative position with CAEO's Educational Outreach Center as an Academic Coordinator(2021-present) assisting adults looking to enter into post-secondary educational opportunities.
