Biography

Rabea Alhosh, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics in the division of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Pediatrics, where he has served since 2015. Dr. Alhosh received his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria, followed by a pediatric internship and residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. He completed his pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and he was certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both general pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology.

His clinical interests include:

  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Pediatric liver disease
  • Endoscopy
  • Eosinophilic esophagitis

Dr. Alhosh’s research has been published in leading medical journals and encompasses pediatric pancreatitis, hepatopulmonary syndrome, acute pancreatitis, and cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. He has presented his work at national conferences and is a regular peer reviewer for prominent hepatology and gastroenterology journals.
