Biography
Peter Lloyd Hildebrand, MD, FACS, affiliate professor and chair of the department of ophthalmology, received his medical degree at the Max Rady College of Medicine, Western Canada’s first medical school in the University of Manitoba. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in the University of Oklahoma and then went on to pursue an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Oregon Health & Science University’s Casey Eye Institute.
An academic ophthalmologist and seasoned clinician, Dr. Hildebrand served as a professor at the University of Oklahoma Department of Ophthalmology for more than 20 years. His entrepreneurship background sets him apart as a proven visionary leader with CEO-level experience managing a large multi-specialty practice of seven clinic locations, as well as startup and early-stage medical technology companies.
In addition to serving the medical school as the new chair of ophthalmology, Dr. Hildebrand will be working on the foundation for an ophthalmology residency program.
