Graduate Coordinator/ Stage & Screen Acting
Nate is a senior professor of theatre and a member of all professional acting guilds (SAG/AFTRA and AEA). A Graduate Dean's Fellow from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Nate has taught at Mississippi State University and the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. While having taught a wide range of courses on the university level (acting, directing, movement, voice and dramatic literature), Bynum specializes in on-screen acting at UNLV and maintains a visible presence in Hollywood. Onstage, he has performed at the Lyceum Theatre in Missouri, the American Stage in Florida, and the Arkansas Repertory Theatre in Little Rock. Recent television and movie credits include: Iron Man 3, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Grey’s Anatomy, Parenthood, and Franklin and Bash. Additionally, Bynum has appeared in a number of regional and national commercials. Twice awarded the College of Fine Arts’ highest honor for artistic excellence—The Charles Vanda Award—he credits his greatest production to date as the creation of two lovely little daughters.
