Nadia Pomirleanu, Ph.D.
Mel Larson Fellow, Professor
Biography
Nadia Pomirleanu is a professor of marketing and the Mel Larson Fellow of Experiential Marketing in the Department of Marketing and International Business at UNLV's Lee Business School. She is also a Direct Selling Education Foundation Fellow and a Sports Innovation Initiative affiliate professor. Her research interests center on how organizations build lasting relationships through the design of experiences, whether between a brand and its audience or between firms navigating complex commercial partnerships, with a particular focus on B2B relationships, sales strategy, AI-enabled, experiential and sensorial marketing.
On the B2B side, she examines how firms structure commercial relationships, sustain value across ecosystem disruptions, and compete through service, experience and social customer journeys strategy rather than product alone. She has published in the Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, Tourism Management, Psychology and Marketing, and the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, among others. She is co-editor of Experiential Marketing in an Age of Hyper-Connectivity (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2022).
Pomirleanu teaches marketing strategy, services marketing, and experiential marketing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and MBA and Executive MBA, and has led curriculum and programming development for experiential marketing at UNLV. She founded mARTketing, a student creative competition and public exhibition connecting marketing education with Las Vegas's arts community, and co-advises the award winning UNLV AMA case competition team. Her honors include the Mel Larson Experiential Marketing Fellowship, the 2025 UNLV Generative AI Teaching/Research Fellowship, and the Journal of Marketing Education Article of the Year Award (2016), along with multiple teaching, research, and service excellence awards.
Pomirleanu earned her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Central Florida. Prior to entering academia, she worked in financial services and life insurance.
