Biography

Miguel Gonzales’s research agenda focuses on how to effectively prepare and support school leaders to drive innovation and sustained improvement in rapidly changing educational environments. He studies leadership development with an emphasis on the design and impact of principal preparation programs that build collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and adaptive problem-solving. A major line of his research examines technology leadership, analyzing how principals promote the meaningful integration of digital tools and navigate emerging instructional models, including one-to-one initiatives and the use of artificial intelligence. He also explores innovative approaches to school organization and reform, such as new models for scaling leadership and improving school performance. Across these strands, he emphasizes practice-based research that connects leadership training to real-world outcomes, aiming to develop future-ready school leaders who can respond to uncertainty, foster innovation, and lead continuous school improvement.
