Meagan Madariaga-Hopkins, M.Ed.
Professional Writing Consultant
Prior to joining the Writing Center, Meagan Madriaga-Hopkins taught English as a Second Language (ESL) for almost 20 years. Hailing from Reno, NV, she earned her B.A. in International Affairs and later came to UNLV, where she earned a Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She has studied in Brazil, Spain, and Guatemala, and has also taught English in Egypt, Korea, and Austin, Texas. At UNLV, Meagan has taught a variety of ESL classes, as well as ENG 114. Outside of ESL, Meagan is interested in historical, international, and classical literature. As our professional writing consultant, she enjoys working with all types of papers for writers of all levels. In her spare time, Meagan loves to travel, cook, watch movies, visit art galleries, and play with her dogs.
