Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
As a military resident, I value that the UNLV OB-GYN program offers a strong civilian training in a diverse city with a wide range of learning opportunities. Having attended medical school at UNLV, I had the privilege of rotating with the department as both a third- and fourth-year student. What stood out most to me was the close-knit and supportive culture, reflected in the cozy resident room filled with photos, books, and decorations. I was also deeply impressed by the residents’ confidence and skill during mock oral boards, in the OR, and while managing complex cases.

What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I enjoy so many aspects of OB-GYN, but I especially love labor and delivery. My dream is to be a laborist one day!

What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
I love living in Las Vegas because family and friends visit often. My favorite thing to do is host and take them to our favorite restaurants, hikes, and shows.

What is one fun fact about you?
My name, “Marley,” is a combination of my grandmothers’ names “Mary” and “Shirley.”

What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Take time to explore Las Vegas – especially outside of the Strip. It’s such a fun and unique place to live, and it always surprises me!
