Dr. Stafford joined the Harrah College in July of 2019 as the Executive Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to help build and support the College of Hospitality in achieving the Top Tier goals set by the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. Prior to her 26+ years in academic as a professor, department chair and dean in the business discipline, Dr. Stafford spent time in industry in marketing, communications, and training development. Her time in academia has resulted in numerous publications, professorships, grants and awards including the 2016 Ivan Preston Award for Outstanding Contribution to Advertising Research and the 2009 and 2017 University of Memphis Alumni Association Awards for Outstanding Research in Social Sciences, Business and Law. She has also received several best paper awards over the years. Dr. Stafford is the past Editor in Chief of the Journal of Advertising and past president of the American Academy of Advertising.
