Biography
Marina Amaya is the community engagement coordinator at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. In her current role, she supports the development and management of university-community partnerships that support service-learning and outreach and pipeline programs.
A graduate of UNLV with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a minor in anthropology, Amaya brings a decade of experience in public health promotion, community outreach, and partnership development. Prior to her current role, she led large-scale, evidence-based health promotion initiatives at the University of Nevada, Reno Extension, coordinating outreach programs that engaged more than a thousand participants annually and fostering collaborations with a diverse network of community partners. She has a proven ability to build sustainable partnerships, implement impactful engagement strategies, and support initiatives that reduce health disparities. Committed to advancing public health through inclusive collaboration, she leverages her expertise in program development, evaluation, training, and strategic communication to strengthen the connection between higher education and the community.
