Biography

Marc Glasser, with over 30 years of experience in risk management, has worked with technology and service startups. He has led business development in the manufacturing and service sectors, understanding the importance of sales, marketing, and a strong network to connect people and ideas for results. His experience spans from a few-person startup to an organization with over 250,000 employees.

Marc Glasser is an expert in several domains, including homeland security, critical infrastructure protection, cyber security risks, business continuity, emergency and crisis management, physical security, criminal, civil, employment-suitability investigations, and executive protection. He excels at understanding the interconnectedness of these domains.

Based on his professional experience, Marc Glasser developed the “ROI of risk management” perspective. He retired from US Government service as the Chief of Chemical Security for the Department of Homeland Security, where he developed and implemented a risk management program to reduce the likelihood of significant terrorist chemical attacks. He understands the need for a balance between catastrophic events that may never occur, and the resources needed along the spectrum of risk management, including prevention, mitigation, transfer, and acceptance. 

Marc Glasser’s public sector career began as a Special Agent with the US Department of State. He developed a worldwide network and gained insights into business cultures through his work in over 90 countries. While serving in the US Foreign Service, he learned the importance of diplomacy in efficiently and rapidly achieving desired key results.

Marc Glasser is an adjunct professor and published in academic journals and practitioner resources. Marc has presented to corporate boards, CEOs, government officials at the highest level, large-attendance conferences and workshops worldwide.

Marc Glasser holds a Master of Science in Crisis and Emergency Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Police Science from Sam Houston State University.
