Biography

Lisa Ly is a Team Lead Research Assistant and a fourth-year Honors College student in the Department of Criminal Justice. Lisa was born in Vietnam and immigrated to Las Vegas, Nevada when she was nine years old. Her research interest includes social and urban policies and how different policies shape the systems of social provision in America. Lisa has conducted her undergraduate honors thesis which examined racial profiling of African American civilians in the practice of stop-and-frisk in New York City. Along with her academic and professional pursuits, Lisa hopes to improve the lives of those in the Las Vegas community through her work in the Tourism Safety and Crowd Science Lab.
