Biography

Lisa Durette, MD, serves as an associate professor, the director of the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship program, and the chair of the department of psychiatry and behavioral health in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. Dr. Durette graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed both a general psychiatry residency and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board-certified in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Durette has been awarded distinguished fellow of both the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and is a member of the American College of Psychiatrists (ACP).

Dr. Durette is active in her field both locally and nationally. She serves on the Nevada Governor’s Commission of Mental and Behavioral Health. Through AACAP, she co-chairs the Political Action Committee as well as the Adoption and Foster Care committee and is also appointed to the Collaborative and Integrated Care Committee. Dr. Durette is Nevada’s delegate to the AACAP assembly as well.

Dr. Durette and her team created and run the state’s child psychiatry access program, the Nevada Pediatric Access Line (NV PAL), bringing child psychiatry expertise to the state’s primary care clinicians. She is invested in education, clinical care, and systems of care innovation.
