Biography

Leah Elaine Procita is a costume designer and educator whose passion is making theatre and academia more accessible.

Originally from Oakland, California, she received her bachelor of arts in Theatre Arts with a minor in History from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She is currently working toward her Master of Fine Arts degree in the area of Costume Design, with the hopes of becoming an educator. She also has created and taught several costume and sewing classes at the Rainbow Youth Theatre, here in Las Vegas. Here at UNLV, she often teaches THTR 201–Intro to Costume Design, and occasionally THTR 200–Intro to Theatrical Design. She currently serves as the Theatre Department’s GPSA representative.

Her recent credits include The Cherry Orchard at Nevada Conservatory Theatre, Turn of the Screw with the UNLV Opera Department, Keeley and Du at A Public Fit Theatre, and Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche with Student Stage in San Luis Obispo.
