Kimberly Redmond Carr joins UNLV as a new assistant professor-in-residence, bringing more than three decades of experience as an educational leader, instructional designer, and school administrator across K-12 systems in the United States and abroad. She earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Walden University, along with a master's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Austin College.

Most recently, Carr served as a content developer and instructional designer with Arizona State University's Invest Program, where she designed "Future READY," a comprehensive educational framework for Native American students in grades 7-12 that integrates Indigenous knowledge systems with college and career readiness and the use of artificial intelligence in education. Prior to that, she spent three years as an education program specialist with the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), where she led eight schools through the first-ever system accreditation in BIE history. In 2024, she was named one of only four recipients of the Cognia Arizona Circle of Excellence Award for her leadership in BIE.

Carr's career also includes 12 years as a school administrator with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), where her school earned the National Blue-Ribbon Award, as well as roles in accountability, accreditation, and educational technology across DoDEA's Europe and Pacific districts.
