Biography

Keoni Kins, PT, DPT, LAT, ATC, grew up in rural Eastern Montana and served in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance - Athletic Training from the University of Montana, Missoula. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2010.  He's since completed a graduate certificate in Program Evaluation and Assessment from UNLV in 2021.

Kins has served the Las Vegas community as a certified athletic trainer since 2004 working with recreational and professional athletes, and a licensed physical therapist since 2010 in the orthopedic outpatient setting. He enjoys serving on the physical therapy department's assessment and clinical education committees. Kins teaches within the clinical education and orthopedic tracks for the UNLV Department of Physical Therapy.

Research Interests

Student perceptions of clinical education experiences in rural and underserved settings & physical therapy graduates' practice patterns in rural Nevada and underserved settings. Clinical assessment and tendon morphology amongst collegiate athletes. The impact of service-learning activities, such as pro-bono physical therapy services to uninsured and underinsured individuals in Southern Nevada, on students and community stakeholders.
