Biography

Dr. Harris is an Assistant Faculty in Residence in the Department of Counselor Education, School Psychology, and Human Services at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has served as the Internship Coordinator in the Counselor Education program for the last eight years. Dr. Harris formerly served as President of the Western Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (WACES) and served on the executive board of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). In her role as the Internship Coordinator in the Counselor Education program she works closely with community mental health agencies and the Clark County School District to provide and facilitate field experience placements for practicum students and interns. Dr. Harris research interests include: self-advocacy, mentorship, homeless youth, cultural competence, and the recruitment and retention of faculty of color.
