Biography
Kay Callahan, Ph.D., is an assistant professor-in-residence in the School of Public Health at UNLV. She completed her Ph.D. in public health at UNLV in 2019 with a concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics. Her research interests include population-level descriptive cancer epidemiology, with a special focus on disparities by race/ethnicity and country of origin. Given her history and training in educational pedagogy, Kay enjoys the emphasis on teaching associated with her current role at UNLV. She teaches a wide variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and serves as the Coordinator for PBH 205-Introduction to Public Health, UNLV’s most popular second-year seminar course. In all courses, she is accessible and engaging, and seeks to inspire students to be changemakers in their lives.
