Dr. Juan Gutierrez is a two-time UNLV alumnus. He received his bachelor's degree in romance languages as a Phi Kappa Phi scholar in 2015, and subsequently earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018 receiving the Kitty Rodman Award of Excellence. Dr. Gutierrez currently practices in multiple hospitals in the Las Vegas valley as an acute care therapist. His experience includes working in emergency department, oncology/transplantation and cellular units and in neuroscience intensive care units. His interests include combating healthcare disparities, serving underserved populations including the under-insured/non-insured and the Hispanic community. Dr. Gutierrez is a part-time instructor at UNLVPT since 2021 and teaches courses related to functional training and acute care. He also assists in the (Integrated Clinical Education) ICE program with the physical therapy students out in the field. In his free time, Dr. Gutierrez enjoys hiking, reading, spending time with his two dogs and family.
