Biography
Xu (Joyce) Cheng is an assistant professor in the Department of Accounting at the UNLV Lee Business School. She earned her Ph.D. from the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy at the University of South Florida and holds a master’s degree from the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality at UNLV.
Her research explores the intersection of information systems and accounting, focusing on accounting information systems, judgment and decision-making, and the impact of technology on accounting practice and professionals. Her work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including MIS Quarterly, Journal of Information Systems, Information & Management, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, and Issues in Accounting Education.
Cheng’s teaching interests include accounting information systems, accounting data analytics, and IT auditing. She is an active member of the American Accounting Association and the Canadian Academic Accounting Association.
