Biography

Josephine Sun, MD, is an assistant professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Pediatrics. She completed her pediatrics residency training at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine in 2021 and joined the school’s faculty the same year. Currently, she serves as the associate program director of the pediatrics residency program, the pediatric pathway advisor for medical students, and the director of the UNLV Health General Pediatrics Clinic – roles through which she is deeply committed to clinical care, education, and mentorship.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Sun spent half of her childhood in Taiwan. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in biology and her medical degree from the University of Utah. During medical school, she actively participated in community outreach, including volunteering with the Somali Refugee Program and organizing health fairs for underserved populations.

Fluent in Mandarin-Chinese, Dr. Sun is dedicated to serving the Chinese-speaking community in Las Vegas and addressing their children’s healthcare needs. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, reading, and spending time with her husband and their German Shepherd.
