Biography

Joanna Jezierska is the Director of Graduate Research Pathways at the UNLV Graduate College. She has worked in the NSHE system for over 21 years, working both at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). Her academic interests include international education policies and reform, globalization and its impact on educational systems, the role of higher education and national development, first generation student services, developmental theory and access. Before she accepted a position at the Graduate College in 2025, Joanna worked multiple positions as an advising and retention specialist, Disability Resource Specialist, and a director of Tutorial Services at CSN. In January 2013 she accepted the position of director of the Multicultural Program for STEM and Health Sciences at UNLV.

In her native city of Warsaw, Poland, she earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Foreign Languages and a Masters in Pedagogy from the Pedagogical University Jane Kochanowski in Kielce, Poland. She obtained her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership in 2009 at UNLV specializing in international education system reform and policies.
