Biography
Jeremy Hynds, MS, CEM, MEP, is an emergency management practitioner with more than 16 years of experience across local government, federal, and public health sectors. He currently serves in the Office of Emergency Management for the City of North Las Vegas and as plan team manager and technical information specialist for Nevada Task Force 1, one of FEMA's national Urban Search and Rescue teams. His career also includes roles with Henderson Emergency Management, the Nevada National Security Site under the Department of Energy, and the West Virginia Bureau of Public Health. Hynds' work centers on HSEEP exercise design and evaluation, THIRA/SPR, all-hazards planning, and ICS/EOC operations. He is a recognized leader in unmanned aircraft systems, serving as co-chair of the Southern Nevada UAS/CUAS Subcommittee and as a member of FEMA's ESF-9 Ad Hoc drone committee. As a FEMA adjunct instructor, HSEEP Instructor, ICS instructor, and Nevada qualified instructor, Hynds brings a practitioner's perspective to the classroom, connecting doctrine to real-world application. He also holds a master's degree from UNLV in crisis and emergency management as well as the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) credentials.
