Biography

Dr. Mihelic is a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience in southern Nevada, serving as a clinician, educator, and supervisor. Currently, she holds the position of Assistant Director of Clinical Training (ADCT). She also oversees the UNLV PRACTICE, Psychological Assessment, and Testing Clinic (PATC).

Dr. Mihelic is passionate about working with college students, especially first-generation students and diverse learners. Prior to graduate school, she worked as the First-Year Program Coordinator at Nevada State College, where she assisted with the initial development of academic advising and tutoring services for students. She also worked closely with offices for disability services, focusing on increasing inclusionary teaching practices. Dr. Mihelic taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses related to psychology and clinical skills. Recently, she co-created an open-access, guided online course that teaches test-takers how to effectively manage test anxiety and approach tests with confidence. This course has been used by over 200 students across several countries. She also provides consultation services to professional boards regarding strategies that can assist test-takers with managing anxiety and increasing test performance.

Dr. Mihelic believes one area that needs to be prioritized in the field of mental health is equity in access to services. This is related to her dedication to teaching and supervising the next generation of clinicians in this field. Dr. Mihelic co-founded a busy, multidisciplinary, group practice in Henderson, NV in 2014 which continues to provide comprehensive services, with an emphasis on access and multicultural inclusion, to the community of southern Nevada.

In 2023, Dr. Mihelic returned to her alma mater, UNLV, as the ADCT of clinical training, bringing with her a wealth of clinical experience and a strong dedication to the institution where she completed her graduate studies in Clinical Psychology in 2013.
