Biography

Guitarist Jake Langley has emerged as one his generation’s most versatile guitarists, and has been a professional musician for over 25 years. The Grammy-nominated musician is equally masterful at jazz, blues, R&B, country and rock.

Jake has toured and recorded with many of today’s music legends; including Sheena Easton, Donnie and Marie, Roberta Flack, Willie Nelson, K.D. Lange, David Clayton Thomas, Blood Sweat and Tears, Lyle Lovett, Leonard Cohen, Bobby Blue Bland, Merle Saunders, Clint Holmes, The Righteous Brothers, Asleep At The Wheel, and The Dixie Chicks. Jake was guitarist with Joey Defrancesco’s Organ trio for five years, playing on 3 Concord CD releases with Joey as well as releasing 4 CDs under his own name on the Concord label.

Jake has also performed with many jazz icons; including George Coleman, Bobby Hutcherson, Jimmy McGriff, and Jimmy Smith. Jake’s Broadway musical credits include performing on the national tours of The Color Purple, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Duck Commander. Jake has performed in Las Vegas’ orchestra pits for Newsies, Mama Mia, Lion King, and Chicago; as well as performing concerts with Bernadette Peters, Kristen Chenowith and the late Joan Rivers.

Jake currently performs in “BAZ” at the Palazzo Theatre, and at Cirque Du Soleil “KA” at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas; and tours internationally with Sheena Easton, and with the Ronnie Foster Organ Trio. Jake studied guitar in New York with the legendary Pat Martino and Jim Hall; and he studied composition with Jim Beard.
