Jacob D. Skousen, Ed.D., is an assistant professor of educational policy and leadership in the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education at UNLV, where he has served since 2019. Prior to joining UNLV, he was an assistant professor at the University of Northern Colorado and spent 15 years in P-12 education as a teacher, instructional coach, principal, and district-level leader. His scholarship examines leadership development, teacher leadership, school safety, and equity in school finance, with recent work addressing educational leadership, student fees, virtual schooling, and state education finance. In addition to his research and teaching, he serves as special edition editor for the Journal of Education Human Resources and holds leadership roles with the Association for Teacher Leadership and Scholarship (ATLAS).
