Biography

Ivette Barajas is a multi-venture entrepreneur, business leader and community advocate born and raised in Las Vegas. She is known for turning opportunities into thriving ventures, from leading in the banking industry to building across Las Vegas through MIKBAR Construction and now bringing sweet nostalgia to the city as a Magnolia Bakery franchise owner.

She is the co-founder and CEO of MIKBAR Construction, a commercial general contracting firm she and her husband founded in 2018. The company specializes in projects for government agencies, local municipalities, and hospitality clients.

Before launching her company, Barajas spent more than 27 years in the banking industry, building a successful career in economics and finance, commercial lending, wealth management, risk management, and sales leadership. Known for her collaborative leadership style and strong business development skills, she consistently ranked among the top performers and was recognized as woman of the year by the National Association of Professional Women for her contributions to the banking industry and the community.

Continuing her entrepreneurial journey, Barajas is also a franchise owner of Magnolia Bakery in Las Vegas, where she is leading the expansion of the iconic New York bakery brand — home of its famous banana pudding and classic American desserts — into Southern Nevada.

Barajas is deeply committed to community impact and serves on several nonprofit boards that support children, education, economic empowerment, and small-business advocacy. She is a proud UNLV graduate, having earned a bachelor of business administration in finance, and holding a principles of leading transformation nonprofits certificate from the University of Notre Dame.
