Biography
Honghui Deng received his Ph. D from the Red McCombs School of Business of the University of Texas at Austin. In 2003, he moved to Las Vegas as an assistant professor in the UNLV Lee Business School. In 2010, he was tenured and promoted as an associate professor, and then promoted as full professor in 2016. In 2021, he was appointed as the advisor of UNLV for China programs. He is currently the Global Fellow of the Institute of Innovation, Creativity and Capital (IC2) of the University of Texas at Austin.
Deng's research is about diversity in theory, methodology, and applications of MIS, e-commerce, supply chain management, economics, decision science, and operations research/management. He is a pioneer in the field of real-time operations control and recovery, generalizing and expanding the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). He has published many articles in various professional journals such as OMEGA, Decision Science, European Journal of Operational Research, and so on. One of his books/chapters has been published by Kluwer Academic Publishers. He has also been working as part of the organizing and program committee and session chair for several international conferences and workshops, such as INFORMS, CSWIM and Workshop of e-Business (WeB). He was the co-president of the International Conference of The First DSI World Congress 2016 (“Managing Big Data and Decision Making in a New Global Economy").
