Helga has worked extensively in print, gaming, and environmental graphic design as an art director, designer, and consultant. She developed and initiated the Graphic Design & Media degree program within the Department of Art, and teaches in the College of Fine Arts Entertainment Engineering & Design degree program, shared with the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering.

Helga has worked with an international clientele of resorts, casinos, and cruise liners in her previous role as the art interiors division art director at Young Electric Sign Company. Her work at YESCO included art direction, design, and conceptual design for themed interiors, including lighting displays, environmental graphics, gaming graphics, and wayfinding systems. Local clients include the Venetian, Paris Hotel & Casino, and Mandalay Bay. As a solo design contractor, Helga created the artwork and technical designs for major comprehensive graphics and wayfinding programs, including the restaurant & amenities identity design, interior signage, custom gaming graphics and lighting displays for the Orleans Casino, the SunCoast, SouthPoint, and wayfinding design for the Orleans Arena, among other major resorts. She has also worked extensively in advertising design, experience design, conceptual design, and illustration. Past work also includes identity programs for over 30 restaurants. Her restaurant work has included comprehensive design of all visuals to successfully launch: environmental graphics, websites, ad campaigns, menus and all printed collateral, merchandise, packaging, and architectural signage.
