Lecturer Heidi Shelton D.C., R.T. (R), joined the Radiography program in the fall of 2017 and teaches physics of X-Ray Production, Advanced Techniques in Digital Imaging, Radiographic Pathology, and Patient Care. She is also the Radiography Program Director.

Dr. Shelton studied medical imaging at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and has been a Radiologic Technologist since 2006. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from Texas Chiropractic College. In addition to being an ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist, Dr. Shelton is licensed as a Chiropractic Physician in the state of Nevada.

Dr. Shelton was associated with the National Honors Society and received Alpha Beta Gamma honors in Radiology.  As a graduate student, she held the title of Chief Chiropractic Intern. Dr. Shelton is the author of Kowalczyk's Pathology for Imaging Technologists, 9th Edition (Elsevier, 2025).

Dr. Shelton is a current member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and serves on the Board of Directors for the Nevada Society of Radiologic Technologists.
