Lecturer Heidi Shelton D.C., R.T. (R), joined the Radiography program in the fall of 2017 and teaches physics of X-Ray production and advanced techniques as well as patient care and introduction to radiographic technology. She is also the clinical coordinator for the program.
Dr. Shelton studied medical imaging at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and has been a licensed Radiology Technologist since 2006. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from Texas Chiropractic College. In addition to being an ARRT Registered Radiology Technologist, Dr. Shelton is currently licensed as a Chiropractic Physician in the state of Nevada and has been practicing since 2011.
Dr. Shelton was associated with the National Honors Society and received Alpha Beta Gamma honors in Radiology. As a graduate student she held the title of Chief Chiropractic Intern.
Dr. Shelton is a current member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the Nevada Society of Radiologic Technologists. She is also the faculty advisor for the Student Technologist Association in Radiological Sciences. Dr. Shelton is an active member of the community and volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America and Clark County School District.
