Biography

Hans Rawhouser received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He researches social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial resourcefulness, social impact (e.g. greenhouse gas emission reductions through carbon offsets, poverty alleviation, job creation and creation of supportive social networks) and technologies leading to social impact (e.g. blockchain technology, electricity mini-grids). Research contexts span the globe, with specific emphasis on Latin America and an increasing focus on Africa. One of his goals is to help more students from these contexts to participate in high-level academic research. His recent work on these topics is published in top management and entrepreneurship journals. He teaches business plan creation, lean startups and creativity. He graduated from high school in Las Vegas and earned an engineering degree from UNLV, so he finds it rewarding to be at UNLV many years later.
