Biography

Frances Young is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), and is certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). Young is a visiting lecturer and the BSW program and admissions coordinator at the UNLV School of Social Work.

When in the private practice setting, she specializes in assisting clients with maternal and paternal mental health stressors as well as working with the family as a whole. Young is experienced in trauma, crisis management, anxiety and depression treatment for both individuals and families.

Since 2015, she has worked with children, teens and adults in a variety of settings ranging from medical hospitals, behavioral health hospitals, the Clark County School District (CCSD) and in private practice.

Young is on the board of Postpartum Support International (PSI) Nevada Chapter and serves as the liaison for the state. She is also on the board of Heart and Sol Collective, a non-profit that serves the community in lactation, mental health, educational workshops and BIPOC centered support.

Young provides a continuing education course about perinatal disorders at UNLV and is an approved clinical supervisor for the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
