Expertise

Dr. Clark’s expertise as an RN includes critical care and trauma. As a nurse practitioner, she is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has practiced in primary care, urgent care and telehealth. She is also an expert in Nursing Education having earned a PhD in nursing education.

Classes Taught

Dr. Clark has taught in the clinical, didactic and simulation setting for both the undergraduate and graduate programs. She has taught complex care in the undergraduate program and various courses in Family Nurse Practitioner program.

Education Background

Dr. Clark is UNLV alumnae, having earned both her MSN and BSN from the university’s School of Nursing. She earned her PhD with a focus in Nursing Education from the University of Northern Colorado.

Research or Scholarship

Dr. Clark received the Outstanding Didactic Teaching award at the School of Nursing in 2020 and was recognized by the Nevada Nurses Foundation with the Shining Stars of Nursing in Nevada 50 under 50 Award in 2021. She was also nominated for the excellence in dissertation award at the University of Northern Colorado in 2023. Dr. Clark’s dissertation is titled, “A Double-Edged Sword: Lived Experiences of Hispanic/Latino Nursing Students Who Speak English as an Additional Language.” Her research interests focus on improving educational equity for marginalized populations, specifically underrepresented nursing students of color and increasing the diversity of the nursing workforce. She is also interested in the unexplored history of nursing as it pertains to Latinx nurses.

Dr. Clark is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, the American Nurses Association, the Society of Trauma Nurses, the Nevada Advanced Practice Nurses Association, and the National Association of Hispanic Nurses.
