Program Director, Assistant Professor-in-Residence
Biography
Erica Hanna is the program director of the PsyD in Clinical Psychology program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned her PsyD in the APA-accredited and NASP-approved Combined School-Clinical Child Psychology Program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University in the Bronx, New York. Hanna's clinical and leadership experience spans schools, community mental health clinics, psychiatric inpatient settings, private practice, and interdisciplinary care environments, where she has provided psychotherapy, parent training, psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessment, crisis intervention, and consultation for youth and families. Prior to joining UNLV, she served as director of training and licensed psychologist at Scarsdale Village Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in New York. Her leadership is informed by over a decade of experience in early childhood and special education as a former teacher in Clark County School District in Las Vegas and director of teaching and learning with Teach For America Nevada.
Hanna’s research has examined compassion fatigue and satisfaction among Head Start teachers and family service workers, as well as the role of supervision and training in supporting caregivers. Her professional interests center on behavioral health workforce development and the implementation of evidence-based practices across educational, healthcare, and community-based settings to improve outcomes for children and families facing significant risk factors. As program director, Hanna is leading the development of Nevada’s first PsyD program through a developmentally grounded, socially conscious, and community-engaged training model designed to prepare the next generation of clinical psychologists and expand access to high-quality mental health services for Nevada’s youth and families.
