Emmanuel Ayim, Ph.D

Biography
Associate Professor-in-residence Emmanuel Ayim joined the Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences Department during the fall of 2016. He teaches first-year seminars, personal and professional development in kinesiology, and seminar and internship in kinesiology.
Ayim’s research interests are in identity development, student success, youth sports, and coaching.
Ayim earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Dayton, master’s degree in sports administration from Grambling State University, and doctor of philosophy in sports education and leadership from UNLV.
Ayim is active in the community as an A-licensed youth soccer coach for Heat/Surf soccer club. He is a former NCAA Division I collegiate scholarship soccer player and U.S. Soccer All-American. Ayim champions values-based living and is a devoted father of four.
