Biography
Elizabeth (Liz) De La Torre is the administrative assistant IV for community affairs at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. De La Torre is the operational backbone for the community affairs team, where she plays an instrumental role in the precision planning and execution of high-impact outreach events and vital pipeline programs designed to strengthen the school's community engagement. A dedicated servant leader, she actively collaborates across departments, holding key roles on multiple school committees that drive cross-functional efficiency.
De La Torre brings more than 15 years of administrative experience in higher education to her role. She has been an anchor in the school of medicine’s dean’s office since 2017. Her prior decade of service at Nevada State College (now Nevada State University) included serving as the administrative assistant to the chair and department for humanities at the school of liberal arts & sciences, as well as being instrumental in the launch and governance structure of the Classified Employee Council. At UNLV, her exemplary work ethic has been honored with the Above and Beyond Award from the school of medicine. De La Torre holds an associate's degree and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology at Nevada State University.
