Biography

Ed is a higher education leader with over 20 years of experience focused on academic advising, student success, and student affairs. As a first-generation college graduate and former TRiO student, Ed understands the transformative power of higher education and believes academic advising is one of the most powerful tools for expanding opportunity, fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive, and empowering students to achieve their academic and career goals. Ed earned a master's degree in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University.

Since 2012, Ed has served in director-level leadership roles, leading advising and student success initiatives while developing and supporting teams of professionals across public and private institutions, undergraduate and graduate programs, and diverse higher education environments. With extensive experience supporting students across exploratory, major-specific, and competitive career pathways, Ed is committed to fostering collaborative, student-centered advising services that promote student persistence, a sense of belonging, and academic success.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Ed brings a broad perspective shaped by personal experiences, diverse communities, and a lifelong commitment to serving students from all backgrounds. Outside of work, Ed enjoys traveling, discovering local coffee shops, and staying active. With a spouse who works in clinical dialysis, Ed has a personal appreciation for the dedication of healthcare professionals and is excited to support UNLV students as they prepare for health science careers that make a meaningful impact in their communities.
