Douglas Eck, PT, DPT, MHI, ATP, is a dedicated educator and clinician with over a decade of experience in neurologic physical therapy. He has served in his role at University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) since 2021. His teaching is informed by a robust clinical background, holding board certification as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) and a RESNA-certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). After completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University and a neurologic residency and Master of Healthcare Innovation (MHI) at The Ohio State University, Eck has focused his career on the intersection of cutting-edge applied science and patient-centered clinical practice.

Eck is a frequent presenter at national conferences and an active contributor to the APTA, ANPT and Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals (ASCIP), where he received the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation Creativity Award for his work in intensity-forward group exercise programming for patients with spinal cord injury. He is committed to mentoring the next generation of physical therapists, in both the classroom and the clinic, by bridging the gap between emerging research and daily clinical application. His primary areas of academic and clinical interest include rehabilitation for spinal cord injury, the management of neuromuscular diseases, and the integration of assistive technology into interprofessional care.
