Grammy Award winner Dennis Doubin enjoys an international career as conductor, opera educator, chorus master, vocal collaborator, and opera coach.

Doubin began his musical journey with the Moscow Choral Academy Boys Chorus and the Bolshoi Theatre Children's Chorus in Moscow, Russia. He excelled as pianist and completed his formal training with the renowned Ukrainian concert pianist Vitaly Margulis in Los Angeles.

Maestro Doubin matriculated at UCLA, where he earned a master’s degree in conducting, studying under William Vendice and Donald Neuen. His first professional credits include serving as assistant conductor for the Los Angeles Opera and vocal pianist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Later, Doubin was accepted into the Merola Opera Program and subsequently became an Adler Fellow, both at San Francisco Opera. He has maintained a long-standing collaboration with San Francisco Opera, where he made his conducting debut in 2014 with Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème.

His additional professional appearances include engagements with Seattle Opera, Washington Concert Opera, San Diego Opera, West Edge Opera, Opera San José, Opera Las Vegas, among others. Most recently, Maestro Doubin served as music director for Pentatone Records’ release of composer Gordon Getty’s opera Goodbye, Mr. Chips, and as assistant to music director James Gaffigan at Komische Oper Berlin in Germany.

Festival appearances include the Santa Fe Opera.

A highly sought-after opera coach, Doubin has collaborated with many leading opera singers, including Angela Meade, Ailyn Pérez, Ellie Dehn, Amina Edris, Leah Crocetto, Luana DeVol, J’Nai Bridges, Renée Tatum, Brian Asawa, John Matthew Myers, Joshua Guerrero, Pene Pati, Stephen Costello, Dominik Chenes, Alexey Markov, George Gagnidze, Jared Bybee, Soloman Howard, Ildar Abdrazakov and many others.
