Deborah Oakley, AIA, PE, teaches building structural systems and third year design studios. She is co-author of the new edition of Structure in Architecture by Mario Salvadori. Her scholarship focus is discipline-based education research, helping foster best teaching practices in building structures education. She is the co-founder and past president of the Building Technology Educators’ Society, and has also taught at the University of Maryland, where she was awarded a Lilly Teaching Fellowship, and at Philadelphia University.
