David Kramer, DO, CAQSM, an assistant professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Family and Community Medicine, became UNLV Football’s head team physician in July 2024.

Dr. Kramer received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where he also played baseball. He then worked as an emergency medical technician (EMT) for two years prior to applying to medical school. Dr. Kramer earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He then completed his residency training in family medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV in 2018.

Prior to his return to UNLV, Dr. Kramer served as the assistant director of student health at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he was head team physician for UCF men’s soccer and baseball, as well as team physician for football, women’s volleyball, and women’s basketball. He also held the position of medical director for the UCF Master of Athletic Training Program and assistant professor of family medicine through the UCF College of Medicine.

Dr. Kramer’s academic interests include diagnostic ultrasound, osteopathic manipulation, medical education, and sports performance research. He is also an active member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and has been a part of its education and fellowship committees since 2019.
