D. Ty Sivertsen joined the UNLV faculty as a part-time instructor in the summer of 2023. He received his M.S. in accounting from UNLV and his B.S. in political science and a minor in business administration from BYU.

Sivertsen grew up in Las Vegas and has worked various accounting roles in several industries with local companies, and has worked in public accounting since 2017. He started and runs his own local tax and accounting practice, Silverstone Tax Consulting. He enjoys teaching at UNLV and introducing students to the concepts and careers in the accounting world.

Sivertsen is a certified public accountant (CPA), licensed in the state of Nevada.
