Biography
Courtney Coughenour, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator in the School of Public Health. Her research interests are in the area of Health & Place, specifically the influence of community design on health behaviors. She also explores the role that both health and non-health policies may have on public health, which includes the use of Health Impact Assessments (HIAs). Some of her research has focused on opportunities for physical activity - including neighborhood walkability and bikeability, pedestrian safety, food access and community food environments, food waste and food rescue, and health equity issues related to community design.
